Don’t want fake encounters like in UP: CM Gehlot on Rajasthan Police’s bid to arrest journalist Aman Chopra
  • 2 years ago
After a team of Rajasthan Police reached Journalist Aman Chopra’s residence in Noida to arrest him despite High Court’s order, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on May 09 said that he never wants fake encounters to happen like Uttar Pradesh. “The law does its own work. We will never want fake encounters like UP to happen...Stoking the fire is easy but putting it off is difficult,” he said. Notably, the High Court ordered the state police to not take any coercive action into the matter. Chopra was booked for allegedly promoting enmity between different groups and hurting religious sentiments by giving out misleading details about the demolition of a temple in Rajasthan's Alwar district.
