Book Bans in US School Districts

The past year has seen over 1,500 book bans across US school districts. In response, concerns around freedom of speech and expression in classrooms have rippled across the country. Are schools still environments that encourage a free exchange of ideas? We spoke to Nora Pelizzari of the National Coalition Against Censorship, Jonathan Friedman of PEN America, and Patricia Boutilier, Chair of the English Department at Ridgefield High School.
