Japan breaks with traditional cemeteries, embraces QR codes and urban columbariums

More and more people in Japan are breaking with traditions on burial and mourning, choosing modern cemeteries over traditional ancestral graveyards.  Cremated remains are traditionally laid to rest in hometowns far from cities. But as more families move to urban areas, the graves are difficult to reach for Japan’s greying population and are left untended.
