Experts not convinced China will establish a military base on the Solomon Islands

Beijing's Foreign Ministry has announced it has formalised a security pact with the Solomon Islands. Australia says it is deeply disappointed by the pact, and has warned it will lead to a Chinese military presence in the Pacific island country. Professor Tarcisius Kabutaulaka is a political scientist at the University of Hawaii. He says he doesn't expect China will establish a military base there.
