The Issue of Contaminated Water In India
Contaminated water accounts for almost 80% of all illnesses in India, and the problem has been around since the 1980s. Despite government attempts to clean up sewage systems and improve infrastructure, little progress has been made over the past three decades, and the contaminated water crisis continues to pose a threat to the health of millions of people who live in the area. The problem of contaminated water and its harmful effects on public health is an issue that can be solved with some serious investment from local governments, but until that happens, there will continue to be millions of cases of illness caused by dirty water every year in India.
