April 1980.. This was the day when such a party emerged in the politics of the country. The one that followed Lohia's socialist principles was named Bharatiya Janata Party. This is the party which was nurtured by Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani along with hundreds of their office bearers and lakhs of workers. Its rise was seen not only as a political party, but also as an alternative to the Congress, which was the biggest political force in the country.

अप्रैल 1980.. ये वो दिन था जब देश की राजनीति में एक ऐसे दल का उदय हुआ। जो लोहिया के समाजवादी सिद्धांतों की अनुगामी थी, उसे नाम दिया गया था भारतीय जनता पार्टी। ये वो पार्टी है जिसे अटल बिहार वाजपेयी और लाल कृष्ण आडवाणी ने अपने सैकड़ों पदाधिकारियों और लाखों कार्यकर्ताओं के साथ मिल कर सींचा था। इसका उदय सिर्फ एक राजनीतिक दल के तौर पर ही नहीं, बल्कि देश की सबसे बड़ी राजनीतिक ताकत रही कांग्रेस के विकल्प के तौर पर भी देखा गया था।
