Queen would be ‘hurt’ if more countries left Commonwealth – ‘it's close to her heart’

In a poll that ran from 10am on Wednesday, March 23, to 9am on Monday, March 28, Express.co.uk asked: “Are Commonwealth countries waiting for the Queen to die before opting to oust the royals?” The poll came after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were met with anti-Commonwealth protests on their royal tour of the Caribbean last week. A total of 1,602 people voted and dozens of comments were left below the accompanying article in a lively debate. The majority of voters – 62 percent (999 people) said “yes” Commonwealth countries were waiting for the Queen to die before ousting the royals. Meanwhile, 30 percent (474 people) said “no” and a further eight percent (129 people) said they did not ...
