In India where Hindus celebrate Eid and make ‘Tazia’ in Muharram, Muslims celebrate Diwali and make Banarasi sarees, where Upanishads says ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ meaning ‘the world is a family’, Muslims are not being allowed to set up their shops during Hindu festivals and fairs in the state of Karnataka.



According to a law, it is prohibited to lease out the space near a Hindu religious institution but, if the law was enacted in 2001, why wasn’t it enforced for 20 years? Is this a reaction to the protest against hijab ban?
