Rajya Sabha: Opposition MPs Demand Discussions On Fuel Price Rise, VP Adjourns House For The Day

On March 28, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned. The House was adjourned as the opposition members demanded a discussion on the fuel price hike and the nationwide strike called by the trade unions. Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu adjourned the House till noon. Petrol price today crossed Rs 100 a litre mark after rates were hiked by 80 paise a litre and 70 paise in case of diesel, taking the total increase in rates in one week to Rs 4.80 per litre, reported PTI. As reported by PTI, petrol in Delhi will now cost Rs 100.21 per litre as against Rs 99.41 previously. Derek O'Brien, Trinamool Congress MP tweeted, “BJP running away from discussion on PRICE RISE.” Jairam Ramesh, Congress MP tweeted, “Clearly, the Modi Sarkar wants no discussion or debate!” Watch the video to know more.
