Melisa Idris speaks to Dr Mahaletchumy Arujanan about the importance of science communication in closing the gap between technical experts and society, as well as increasing the sense of wonder and interest in the sciences.

Dr Mahaletchumy Arujanan is the Executive Director of the Malaysian Biotechnology Information Center (MABIC), and the Editor-in-Chief of The Petri Dish, Malaysia’s first science newspaper. In 2015, Dr Maha was listed by the Scientific American Worldview as one of the World’s 100 Most Influential People in Biotechnology.
