Under the Pakatan Harapan an electoral reform committee was established but had only managed to submit an interim report before the collapse of that government. In August 2020 under the Perikatan Nasional the full report with its 49 recommendations was submitted. The current government has since set up an ERC Report Committee to vet the recommendations.
