A vintage fire engine charity is "desperately" searching for a new home for its 20-strong fleet - including one vehicle that dates back to Victorian times.The red emergency appliances are currently housed in a bomb dump at the former RAF Coltishall in Norfolk, which the landlord has condemned as unsafe. Norfolk Fire Museum, which looks after the vehicles, must now find a new site of around 3,000 sq ft. The fire engines include a horse-drawn engine from the mid-1800s and more recent models from the late 20th century. Charity trustee Colin Farrington appealed for anyone who can house the vehicles to get in touch. He said: "We want to preserve the history of firefighting in Norfolk, including the vehicles and photographs."Norfolk Fire Museum also holds an archive of records and pictures that document the county's fire service. In a Facebook appeal this month, the charity wrote: "Our current landlord has deemed our building unsafe and beyond repair, and although we would love to stay on the site they have sadly been unable to offer us any alternative. "This means that we are now desperate to find another home to store our unique collection of heritage Norfolk firefighting related vehicles and equipment. "So with a deadline of June we would love to speak to anyone who could possibly offer or help us find a new home."
