Tourism -- and its related services -- is one of the biggest sectors for employment -- making up just under a quarter of all jobs in Malaysia. But it is one of the industries worst-hit by the pandemic -- and will likely take years to recover fully. Langkawi is one of two economies in the Federation that is most dependant on tourism for jobs and revenue. Melisa Idris and Sharaad Kuttan speak to Hezri Adnan, CEO of the Langkawi Development Authority and Hussein Said, one of the biggest Jet Ski operators in Asia and founder of pulaulangkawi.my.
