The Man With Elephant Sized Legs | BORN DIFFERENT

Rickshaw driver Chand, 42, from Shadnagar, India, has a condition called Filariasis, which has caused his legs to swell up to elephant-like proportions. Filariasis is an infectious tropical disease caused by thread-like parasitic worms, often transmitted through a mosquito bite. Chand’s swollen legs make it difficult for him to carry out basic domestic tasks and led his wife and children to leave him. However, he is still able to earn a living - with the help of his trusty rickshaw, ferrying loyal passengers around his home town each day. Chand dreams of one day owning his own rickshaw and getting surgery that will enable him to live a regular life.
