HIVE to Buy Chips From Intel

HIVE Blockchain Technologies ($HIVE@Canada) has announced that it is going to adopt the high-performing ASIC chip from Intel ($INTC@US). As part of HIVE’s announcement, it said that the company plans to mix these chips with high-performing Bitcoin mining devices. Plus, HIVE announced that it has a letter of intent with Compute North to host 100 megawatts of Bitcoin mining capacity in one of their new Texas facilities that will also be energy-efficient. When HIVE can take delivery of all its chips and mining machines it plans to see a 95% increase in its aggregate Bitcoin hash rate HIVE’s announcement also said, “after months of careful planning, we are very excited to take this step forward with a global technology leader like Intel. HIVE is committed to implementing these next-generation blockchain accelerators in its green energy infrastructure.” He went on to say, “Intel’s energy-efficient and high-performance blockchain accelerator are expected to reduce our power consumption over current ASIC miners on the market.” At press time, HIVE stock was down nearly 6%, trading at $2.27 per share.
