Maha Shivratri 2022: Muhurat, Significance, Puja Vidhi

Maha Shivratri, an auspicious Hindu festival, is being celebrated on March 1, 2022. As per the Hindu Calendar, Maha Shivratri or the great night of Shiva is observed on Krishna Paksha Chaturdashi of Falgun month. There are nearly 12 to 13 Shivratris in a year but Maha Shivratri is considered to be the most important of all. Maha Shivratri marks the end of winter and the arrival of the summer season. This year Maha Shivratri will be celebrated in four phases and will start from 3.16 AM on Tuesday, March 1. Chaturdashi Tithi will begin at 3:16 AM on March 1 & will end at 1:00 AM on March 2. Some devotees believe that Maha Shivratri is the night when Shiva performs the heavenly dance also known as Shiv Tandav. There are some people who believe that as per Hindu Mythologies, Lord Shiva & Mata Parvati got married on the day of Maha Shivratri. Watch the video to know more.
