Bureau of Meteorology's Dean Narramore says inland and southern parts of NSW are expected to receive higher than average rainfall.

Coastal areas around Newcastle and the Central Coast are expected to see potentially dangerous conditions over the coming days.

Meanwhile, the southern highlands may also experience potentially perilous conditions.
