Singapore PM Cites Nehru's India & Criminal Cases Of Indian Mps, MEA Summons High Commissioner

Recently, Lee Hsien Loong, Singapore Prime Minister, said that nearly half of the MPs in Lok Sabha have criminal charges pending against them. PM Lee Hsien Loong also suggested a decline in India's democratic polity from Nehru’s India, reported The Indian Express. Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh shared the video and said, “…our PM denigrates Nehru all the time inside and outside Parliament.” On February 17, India summoned Singapore’s High Commissioner Simon Wong to lodge protest. As per a report carried by The Indian Express, the Ministry of External Affairs conveyed to Singapore’s envoy that the remarks by the Prime Minister of Singapore were uncalled for. Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi tweeted, “It must hurt GoI’s narrative of denigrating India’s first PM at every given instance.” Watch the video to know more.
