Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne on February 12 said that the relationship between Australia and India has deep connections in trade and investment as well. Marise Payne addressing a joint press conference with External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar said, “Relationship between Australia and India has deep connections in trade and investment as well, and as we stand here in Melbourne, Minister Dan Tehan is returning from India after a round of negotiations for Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement.” She said, “This is an agreement that (CECA), we are confident, will unlock new trade and investment opportunities for both countries, particularly as our respective economies recover from the impact of Covid-19.”
