Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall are believed to have been partly surprised with the Queen’s official statement to make Camilla ‘Queen Consort’ when he becomes the King. Royal expert Angela Mollard claimed Her Majesty’s announcement on her Platinum Jubilee was unexpected as no one anticipated this decision, suggesting the Prince of Wales and the Duchess might also have had little notice.
