Karnataka Hijab Row: What Did The High Court Chief Justice Say

On February 10, the Karnataka High Court, hearing the hijab row, ordered that no religious symbols are allowed for the students until the final order is given. The Karnataka High Court ruled out the use of both hijab and saffron shawls in school and college premises. The interim order was given by a three-judge bench comprising of Chief Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi, Justice Krishna S Dixit & Justice Khaji Jaibunnesa Mohiyuddin. The bench adjourned the matter to February 14. The bench stated that peace has to return to the state and schools and colleges must open soon. Meanwhile, the Karnataka government has decided to reopen schools from February 14 in a phased manner.
