Queen Margrethe, 81, is displaying mild symptoms of the virus, a royal statement confirmed. The ruler had planned to begin a scheduled winter break in Norway on Wednesday, which has now been scrapped. The Queen is fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and is now self-isolating in the Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen. The Queen was one of the very first European monarchs to announce she had received a COVID-19 jab.
