Jim Watson, mayor of Canada’s capital Ottawa has declared a state of emergency. This comes after a week of truckers' protests against Covid-19 regulations. The city has been paralysed. Vehicles have blocked the roads. The protests are being held due to the new rule that all truckers must be vaccinated to cross the US-Canada border. They are protesting against Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government’s rules. Several Ottawa residents have objected to the protests causing traffic jams and also raising fears of harassment.
