Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce says he offered his resignation to the Prime Minister after a text message he wrote while a backbencher calling him a hypocrite and a liar was made public. The text message was written in the wake of former liberal staffer Brittany Higgins alleging she had been raped by a fellow staffer in a ministerial office.
