Hundreds of people have begun arriving in Perth after exemptions to WA's hard border expanded overnight to allow more West Australians and others to return on compassionate grounds. The relaxed travel rules come into force on the day WA had been due to reopen its border and resume quarantine-free travel until Premier Mark McGowan abandoned that plan due to the Omicron threat.
