Congress VS Congress As Ghulam Nabi Azad Conferred Padma Bhushan
  • 2 years ago
Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has been conferred the Padma Bhushan award by the government of India. Now, this has once again brought to the spotlight the sharp divide within the Congress party. Leaders of the \"G-23\" and Gandhi family supporters took to Twitter to express their views. Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal tweeted, “Congratulations bhaijan. Ironic that the Congress doesn’t need his services when the nation recognises his contributions to public life.” Raj Babbar, another Congress leader, also congratulated Ghulam Nabi Azad. Another senior Congress leader, Shashi Tharoor tweeted, “It is good to be recognized for one's public service even by a government of the other side.” Soon after the list of Padma award winners were announced, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh attacked Azad using the phrase \"Ghulam, not Azad (enslaved, not free)\" in his tweet. Jairam Ramesh reacted to CPM's Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee rejecting his Padma Bhushan. He tweeted, “Right thing to do. He wants to be Azad not Ghulam.” Watch the video to know more.
