In at least five states, the number of new cases per day has been spiked to 50 thousand. On Friday, 3 lakh 47 thousand 254 new cases have been registered in the country. There has been an increase of 29,722 in one day as compared to Thursday. The death toll stood at 703 in a day, which is the highest in the third wave. Active cases in the country have also increased to 20 lakh 18 thousand 825. The Delhi government had demanded the removal of the weekend curfew in Delhi, but the Lieutenant Governor has rejected this demand of the Delhi government. Restrictions will continue in the capital.
