Republic Day 2022: No Chief Guest Due To Pandemic, Contingents Practice For Parade

On January 26, the Republic Day celebrations in India will be held without any foreign leader as a chief guest. This decision was taken for the second year in a row due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Reportedly, India had invited the leaders of the five Central Asian nations (CA-5) to be chief guests at the event. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, New Delhi will no longer be hosting the leaders of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan.
