Discovering Religion: Ep 24 - Evolution Of Morality & Survival Of The Fittest

The twenty fourth installment of my original series discovering religion in this episode i examine the claim made by many proponents of a naturalistic origin of morality that our understanding of right and wrong is solely derived from evolution with little to no influence from philosophic logic and reason my goal with this episode is to demonstrate that human beings share numerous behavioral traits in common with a variety of species throughout the animal kingdom our capacity to care and to kill are far from unique on this planet for animals can inflict just as much good or evil on members of their same species as do human beings within the context of social animals the phrase survival of the fittest refers to members of a group that care for one another and help each achieve common goals however this alone does not lead to a sound understanding of morality for often the goal of one group is the demise of another if we are to achieve a consist and all encompassing code of conduct that equally applies to every human being then we must employ the tools of science logic and reason i hope you enjoy the presentation and thank you very much for watching transcript playlist website facebook #Milgram #Fittest #Good #Evolution
