Mark Cuban Defends Dogecoin

Dallas Mavericks owner, Mark Cuban, is one of the most outspoken voices in the American business community. As an NBA owner, he’s turned the business of basketball on its head. He invests in new companies via the Shark Tank TV franchise, and he always has an opinion on the state of the economy, he’s become a proponent of Dogecoin along with Tesla ($TSLA@US) CEO Elon Musk. Recently, Cuban took to Twitter to say that Dogecoin is good for spending and actually better than a lottery ticket, noting its performance over the past year. He even said that Dogecoin is easier for regular people to spend, noting that many institutions are accepting Dogecoin for purchases. Cuban also argued that Bitcoin is more difficult to trade because of its massive price tag. For his part, Cuban has long been serious about normalizing the usage of Dogecoin, making the Dallas Mavericks one of the first entities in America to accept Dogecoin—all the way back to March of 2021. At press time, Dogecoin was trading over 6% higher at 15.77 cents, very close to its 24-hour high on a nearly 50% decrease in volume but nearly a 5% increase in its market cap.
