As many as 125 passengers out of 179, who arrived at Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport Rajasansi from Italy on an Air India flight, tested positive in the RT-PCR test done by authorities. There were 179 passengers, including 19 children, on the flight from Milan that arrived in Amritsar around 1.30 pm on January 6. Soon after the results were declared, authorities brought in ambulances to take the positive patients to hospitals for quarantine but the passengers refused and created a ruckus inside the airport. Relatives of the passengers waiting to receive them also raised slogans. The matter was resolved after five hours, after the health authorities agreed to put them under home quarantine with certain conditions.
