Hong Kong businesses cry foul over abrupt return to anti-Covid-19 social-distancing rules

Bars, gyms and other leisure facilities have been ordered to close for two weeks and restaurants can only serve takeaway after 6pm as Hong Kong ramps up its battle to prevent the Omicron Covid-19 variant from spreading in the city. The measures, announced by the city’s leader Carrie Lam, take effect from January 7.
