Part 1: President Rodrigo Roa Duterte meets with his Cabinet Secretaries to discuss various matters and issues of national concern, including the latest developments on government response to provinces severely affected by Typhoon ‘Odette’ (international name: Rai) and updates on the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) situation in the country, as he holds his final Talk to the People for the year 2021 in Malacañan Palace.
The President reiterates that financial assistance will be provided to the typhoon-affected families and directs the concerned Cabinet members to fast track relief operations, particularly the rebuilding of shelters, and provision of basic necessities such as food, water, clothing and medical attention. He stresses that all government resources and assets are being mobilized to deliver aid at the soonest time.
The Chief Executive says that he intends to go back to the provinces that he previously visited after the onslaught of Typhoon ‘Odette’ to personally see the progress of relief efforts and rehabilitation works being undertaken by the national government agencies.
