Why is 'Omicron' dangerous? Dr Naresh Trehan tells

India on Saturday reported a great spike in the Omicron cases after the tally rose to 415. But still, people are showing their lackadaisical behavior against it. Dr. Naresh Trehan, the founder of Medanta Hospital, told in a special conversation with Aaj Tak why this variant of Corona 'Omicron' is more dangerous than the rest of the variants. Dr. Naresh Trehan said that the three main variants that we have seen including alpha which was detected in the first wave had recorded its R factor 2.5, then when the second wave occurred, delta virus, the most dangerous virus recorded R factor 6.5. But now this new variant Omicron has the highest R not factor, where it can spread to 18-20 people at a time and hence it is called super spreader. Its biggest danger is that it can simultaneously make a large number of people sick. Watch this complete video.
