Allahabad HC Urges Election Commission To Ban Election Rallies In UP Before Assembly Polls 2022

On December 23, the Allahabad High Court requested the Election Commission to delay the upcoming polls in Uttar Pradesh by a month or two. The Allahabad HC also requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ban poll related gatherings. It urged PM Modi to think about postponing the polls over fears of the highly contagious Covid-19 variant Omicron. “Jaan hai toh Jahaan hai (if there is life, we have the world),” Justice Shekhar Yadav said.
