Omicron Scare: PM Narendra Modi Holds Review Meet, Says India Needs To Remain ‘Satark, Saavdhan’

On December 23, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level meeting to review the Omicron situation in the country. PM Modi urged the officials to remain alert and vigilant at all levels as the country witnesses rise in Covid-19 cases once again at several places. This meeting was held as the number of Covid-19 cases with the Omicron variant crossed 300. PM Modi said India needs to remain 'Satark' and 'Saavdhaan' i.e. alert and vigilant. PM Modi directed the central government officials to work with the states and support their steps of containment and management. PM Modi stressed on the need for health systems at the district level capable of dealing with any challenge which the new variant (Omicron) can pose.
