Typhoon Odette (international name: Rai), the strongest typhoon to hit the Philippines this year, slammed into the southern and central regions of the country, knocking out communications and electricity in many areas. Siargao Island, Dinagat Island, Cebu and Bohol islands are reported hard hit by flooding from the strong rain and powerful winds from Super Typhoon Odette.(Ali Vicoy)
