Derek O'Brien, Trinamool Congress's Rajya Sabha MP Suspended Over 'Unruly Behaviour'

On December 21, Derek O’Brien, Trinamool Congress leader was suspended from the Parliament. Derek O'Brien has been suspended for the rest of the winter session. This comes after the TMC leader allegedly threw the rule book at the Chair. The Opposition was protesting against the Election Laws (Amendment) Bill 2021. The bill has been passed in both houses amid heated protests. Derek O’Brien tweeted, “Hope this Bill too will be repealed soon.” He also tweeted, “This government can also manufacture a majority in Rajya Sabha by keeping 12 MPs outside.” He further said, “After breaking every rule and precedent, BJP has the gall to give lectures about the Rule Book.” He said, “They are censoring TV inside parliament.” The TMC leader also put out a message through his display picture on Twitter which read, “You can suspend me, you cannot silence me.” Watch the video to know more.
