Thousands took to the streets to participate in the massive protest rallies held in five districts of Nagaland. The protesters are seeking justice for the 14 civilians killed by the security forces. The protest rallies in Kiphire, Mon, Noklak, Longleng & Tuensang covered the entire eastern state. In the Mon district, dawn to dusk bandh was observed. The killings had taken place in the Mon district. Konyak Union and Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) are leading the protests. ENPO and Konyak Union have declared non-cooperation with the security forces until justice is delivered. They want Union Home Minister Amit Shah to retract his statement in Parliament on mistaken identity and self defence, apart from repeal of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958.
