Canterbury shoppers say parking rates in the city are too expensive

Businesses in Canterbury fear that high parking prices in the town centre are putting people off and damaging the local economy.

One resident said she had to pay £15 for half a day of Christmas shopping.

However the council says they are keeping the price of more than 1000 spaces in Canterbury the same and would like people to use parking lots that are less busy, and therefore less expensive.
