On Friday, the World Health Organization said that stricter travel restrictions will only help countries buy time to prepare for new surges. But it stressed that government should not just rely on border controls. Health Secretary Francisco Duque had also said that it is only a matter of time before the Omicron variant reaches Philippine shores.
