Government oil marketing companies have increased the prices of LPG gas cylinders from December 1. The country's largest state-owned oil company Indian Oil Corporation has increased the price of 19 kg commercial gas cylinder by up to Rs 103.50 per cylinder.

लोगों को उम्मीद थी कि अगले साल उत्तर प्रदेश, पंजाब समेत 5 राज्यों में होने वाले विधानसभा चुनावों को देखते हुए मोदी सरकार पेट्रोल-डीजल की तरह गैस भी सस्ता करेगी, लेकिन दिसंबर महीने के पहले दिन आम आदमी को महंगाई का बड़ा झटका लगा है. सरकारी ऑयल मार्केटिंग कंपनियों ने 1 दिसंबर से एलपीजी गैस सिलेंडर की कीमतों में बढ़ोतरी की है. देश की सबसे बड़ी सरकारी तेल कंपनी इंडियन ऑयल कॉरपोरेशन ने 19 किग्रा कमर्शियल गैस सिलेंडर के दाम में 103.50 रुपये प्रति सिलेंडर तक का इजाफा किया है
