Windsor Castle unveils festive decorations featuring Queen and Margaret's costumes

A 20-foot tall Norwegian spruce which requires two full days to decorate with thousands of lights and hundreds of ornaments will be placed in St George’s Hall. This year’s festive furnishing also includes a show of costumes worn by and Princess Margaret when they performed in holiday pantomimes during World War II.  Believed to be ideated by Princess Margaret, the performances were written and produced by Royal School headmaster, Hubert Tanner, every year from 1941 to 1944. The first show was Cinderella, followed by Sleeping Beauty, and Aladdin, and the Old Mother Red Riding Boots. While the two princesses performed alongside other students from their school, they often took center stage in ...
