Omicron Variant: Indian Govt’s Travel Guidelines After B.1.1.529 Strain Declared Variant of Concern

The Union Health Ministry of India has issued fresh travel guidelines after the Omicron variant of Coronavirus was deemed a ‘Variant of Concern’ by WHO. The new guidelines will come into effect on December 1. The Health Ministry, in a statement, said, \"The existing guidelines have been revised in view of reporting of a new variant of SARS-CoV-2 (B.1.1.529; named Omicron) which has been now classified as VOC by the WHO.\"
