Disney’s new movie Encanto tells the tale of the Madrigals, a family who lives hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a charmed place called an Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift, except Mirabel. When she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is in danger, Mirabel decides that she, the only ordinary Madrigal, might be her family’s last hope. The film features all-new songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda and we checked in with him to find out how a personal story his father told influenced the movie and what he learnt from working on Encanto.
