Heavy winter rains have lashed the state of Tamil Nadu over the weekend. The heavy downpour has led to flooded streets, and lakes, rivers overflowing their banks. The State administration has announced that schools and colleges will be closed across seven districts including capital city Chennai owing to another heavy rain day forecast as well as flooding situations. Tamil Nadu has till now received 68 per cent more than the average downpour this monsoon season.
