Chief Justice of India N V Ramana on November 26, while addressing at the inaugural function of the Constitution Day, said that the framers of the Constitution trusted the competence of men and women who would adorn the bench in upholding its values. “Framers of Constitution made accountability an integral element with respect to legislature and executive. However, they consciously decided to keep the judiciary on a different pedestal,” he said. CJI Ramana also listed out accomplishments of India. “Today India is among the major vaccine producers that support immunisation programs world over. We are among the leading exporters of vaccines, medicines, software and other products. It's a matter of pride that persons with roots in India are leading various international institutions of repute,” he said.
