India At 20th Council Of SCO: Dr Jaishankar On China's BRI, Pakistan

On November 25, India criticised Pakistan at a meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of Government. India said that repeated attempts to purposely bring bilateral issues into the SCO platform violate the well-established principles of the grouping and such counter-productive acts should be condemned. Dr S Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister, in a virtual address asserted that any serious connectivity initiative must be transparent and conform to the most basic principle of respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity. These comments from India are viewed as an indirect reference to China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). India has been critical of the BRI.
