Conservatives' grip on Kent weakened after local elections

Kent politicians are coming to terms with the recent local election results which saw the Conservatives lose 75 seats on Friday. They still have the control of eight councils, with some without a majority, while Labour gained control back in Gravesham.

But the elections also saw an unexpected surge in support for the Green Party and a rise in the number of independent councillors.
