I've Spent $60K To Look Feminine - But I'm Still A Man | HOOKED ON THE LOOK
  • 2 years ago
FROM a young age, Patrick wanted to achieve a ‘plastic, artificial’ look. Growing up, he idolised Hollywood stars including Michael Jackson and drew inspiration from their appearance. From the age of 14, Patrick, now 26, began changing his appearance with hair dye and makeup before getting his first cosmetic procedure at the age of 18. Patrick has now had over 100 cosmetic procedures from filler and botox to surgeries including a nose job, spending €65,000 in total. Patrick told Truly: “I would describe my look as androgynous, because my face looks very feminine. When I apply my makeup, my body just looks more masculine, because I didn't change anything on my body. All in all, I try to achieve a very plastic, artificial look and try to highlight it with my makeup just to make the picture complete.” Patrick often receives judgement when out in public with people making comments or staring. Patrick said: “When people see me and see my look, they often judge me. Most of them judge me as a stupid person, they think I'm just a clown... And when I tell them okay, I studied twice, I'm studying now for my doctorate degree in economics, they are really surprised.” Patrick, who identifies as male said he loves the fact that his ‘feminine’ facial look enables him to challenge traditional gender stereotypes. Patrick told Truly: “I think that society should change their understanding of the gender roles, in my opinion, because the man doesn't have to have muscles and a full beard. If he likes to be more ‘feminine’, he should go for it and everyone should be okay with that.” https://www.instagram.com/patrichaflatwood/
